Starbucks Mini-Journal

The Starbucks Mini-journal. These are made from recycled Starbucks coffee cups.

This project was taught at a Ladies Art Night I am teaching once a month for adults and high school girls this year.  We will be working with mixed...
media at each class and this project included many different techniques.  These make great gifts, especially when you add a Starbucks gift card!

fun Zentangle lines
Do you recognize the print from a register tape roll?
Participants used watercolor crayons, acrylic paint, and watercolors to create layered backgrounds. We also did finger painting and layering by adding text underneath the paint. Printmaking, ink sprays, and many other techniques were used for the project.  I like the Tulip Fabric sprays you see below or liquid watercolors put into spray bottles.  It was a fabulous night of creativity!

The words from the dictionary said 'steal one's thunder' so I highlighted it.

We used a stencil to trace out the head and added it on top of the fingerpainted background, done with phone book pages.

Lots of fun with spray inks and stencils.

Colored pencils work great over paint and watercolor crayon.

I love the meaning and thought put into this page.

She added lots of dictionary words that included the word 'sun'...LOVE IT!

You should definitely try to join us for the next Ladies Art Night!
