Summer Workshops


Summer art workshops are a great time for students to experience art when they have more time away from some of their other studies.  These classes are at my home art studio and are packed with dynamic projects at each class.  There are a variety of 2-3 day workshops to choose from for many age levels.

 
SUMMER ART WORKSHOPS 2012

ELEMENTARY and MIDDLE SCHOOL ART- Grades 3-7
These small group classes offer a variety of exciting projects.  Classes are three-day workshops and will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons from 1-4pm.  

MIXED MEDIA- June 5-7
Experience multiple ways to combine materials such as paint, printmaking, watercolor, pastels, collage, and more.  Students will create 3 mixed-media projects including a self-portrait plaque, a magical landscape, and a beautiful bird painting.

PAINT AMERICA- June 26-28
Students will be using tempera and watercolor to paint beautiful and inspiring American-themed projects just in time for Independence Day. They will be painting the Grand Canyon, a Statue of Liberty cityscape, and a layered American Flag.

SCULPTING- July 10-12
Students will love this hands-on workshop using clay and paper mache. They will create a batik fish, design their own teddy bear, and make a puppet while workings in 3-D.

JUNIOR HIGH -HIGH SCHOOL ART- Grades 7-12
These exciting workshops for the older student are aimed at offering unique experiences in a small group setting.  These two-day workshops run from 10am-4pm with a 45 minute lunch break (please bring a sack lunch and drinks will be provided).

MIXED MEDIA- June 19-20
Come and experience multiple ways to combine materials.  We will be working with paints, pastels, collage, ink, and more.  Students will have a blast creating some beautiful artwork while learning how these materials work together.

SCULPTING- July 17-18
Students will love this hands-on workshop using wire, metal, plaster, and paper mache. They will be creating a paper mache bird, a garden stake insect, and a summer landscape all while working in 3-D.

VISUAL JOURNALING- July 24-25
Visual journaling is a way of combining images with words to express yourself through art.  A mixed media journal will be provided to work in and a variety of new and exciting techniques will be taught at this workshop.
